Overdue updates

Per usual, so much stuff has gone on and I've been too lazy or busy to write.

July 10th was some of the most fun I've had in a while. 5 Marines and myself were selected to do a sword ceremony at a wedding for a boot luitenant at a real nice church and reception. It was a good time. The only thing that I didn't like is that it seemed that the crowd was really intimidated by us or something. Nobody really said much to us. Oh well, that wasn't the good part.

We left the reception early because it started getting lame and all. We also dropped one Marine cuz he had to go home and babysit his kids while his wife went somewhere. Now we're down to five. So the luitenant, as a thank you, reserved us 2 hotel rooms at his expense at the Congress Hotel on Michigan Ave. I didn't know what to expect until we arrived at this fancy-smancy hotel. Oh yeah, SSgt Daniels and myself didn't want to change out of our blues after the reception just to put them back on when we reached the hotel so we rode our motorcycles across Chicago in full dress blues. There were people coming up to us at stop lights with their camera phones and taking pictures and saying stuff like "no one is going to believe this". It was all funny.

Anyways, we finally arrive at the hotel and find out that they overbooked. So they upgraded our rooms to one of their suites for free. Each of their suites runs for 500 bucks a night and they aren't just a room they are basically 3 bedroom apartments.

So we get all tidied up and we all head down to the bar in blues for a drink before we go out. We end up staying in the bar all night. The bar got so packed that you could barely walk around. None of us had to buy his own drink the whole night. For instance, I had around 12-15 scotches on the rocks. I went to the bar with 60 bucks and some how left with almost 70. How that happened I don't recall.

Toward the end of the night there was this one civilian who was drunk and being a smart-ass (there's always one) So I told the guy in front of his buddies that I was going up to my room, changing into civies, then I was going to kick the crap outta him. So I'm headed upstairs and my friends stop me and talk me outta it. One of the last things I remember was heading up to my room and realizing that I was lost so that was a good time. I ended up finding my room later and I crashed.

The next morning I wake up and the whole crew is waiting for me in the lobby and they all go "hey look it's Muhammad Ali" which I didn't think was very funny. It was a good time. There's some other things that happened that night but they're only reserved for times when all the boys are sitting around and we're telling stories about good ol' times.
